Here is what’s going on at Des Moines Fellowship week.
Teaching: Quentin – I Cor. 12:1-11
Core Groups – You are welcome & encouraged to join any Core Group at any time. God has designed us to live together in community & fellowship with each other in a way that transforms our lives & the world around us. There is information about each group on the wall in the foyer.

Youth Group – Not meeting this Summer
Food Pantry Giving – Our food pantry fund balance is low, so if you are interested in giving a earmarked gift towards our food pantry, please don’t hesitate. Just write “food pantry” in the memo line of your check and put it in the offering. Our food pantry serves the community once a week with food that we normally purchase form the Food Bank of Iowa (for pennies on the dollar). Our food pantry ministry allows us to serve many needy people in the community, sharing the love of Christ with them.
Youth Group Fun night – Mark your calendars for a fun night at Sky Zone Monday July 24th. Please meet at the church at 5:20, as we will leave at 5:30sharp, we will be back at the church at 8PM for pickup. The cost is $14 hour to jump (That could drop to $11 if we get 15 or more), sky socks are $2 for a pair. If you have socks from previous jumps or Get Air they will work also. We will also stop for Ice Cream as a group. Please let Brandon and Hannah Smith or Paul Smith know if you will be coming by Sunday July 23rd.
If you are currently in 6th grade and will be in 7th grade in the Fall you are encouraged to be apart of the fun. Parents, you can fill out the waiver online before the even @: https://desmoinesstore.
Church Picnic – Join us Sunday, August 13th after church at Big Creek beach to swim, play on the beach, fish, and fellowship. We have a shelter reserved all day. You are welcome to show up anytime after church. Please pack your own lunch. For supper we will be firing up the grills at 5:00 PM to grill burgers and hot dogs the church will provide. Bring a side to share.
Saturday Morning Men’s Breakfast – Sat. July 29h from 8AM – 9AM @ the church. Meets the last Saturday of each month. Please bring your own breakfast, i.e. fast food items, etc. and your Bible. We are offering this event for a time of breakfast, mutual fellowship (brother time), and sharing in the Word.
Men’s Conference – ‘Fathering Forward’ Men’s Conference Oct. 13-14th. This year we will be covering The Conquer Series – The Battle Plan For Purity. There’s a sign-up sheet on the back counter. See Paul Smith for details.
Special free will donation fitness class for women – Sat. June 24th.
10:30-11:15 First class, a slower more relaxing class
11:30-12:15 Second class, a faster more challenging class.

Grace Alliance Mental Health Support Group – We’ll be offering a women’s mental health peer support group at our church beginning Thursday, August 3rd at 6:30 p.m. The Grace Alliance Living Grace Group is a 16-week curriculum & evidence-based approach providing validating support, helpful biblical & clinical insights & various practical tools to empower personal well-being & greater hope. Living Grace Group is a community experience that has been proven to reduce symptoms, aid in overall mental health recovery & renew faith. Topics include: Identity, Stigma, Medication, Healthy Thinking, Rest/Relaxation & Joy, Cycles & Triggers, Mindfulness & Staying Resilient. The website is mentalhealthgracealliance.org. The group will meet twice a month, the 1st & 3rd Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. See Ellyse Bergeron, Jeonia Curtis, or Amanda Shuey with any questions.
